Motivation Letter

The project „AI without borders: Youth connecting generations“ will be implemented by the Youth Club operating within the Volunteer Firefighting Association “Zaječar”, which serves as the legal entity responsible for administration and financial management. The Youth Club consists of young members aged 13–18 who will lead and implement all project activities.

As the Youth Club is not a separate legal entity, all funds will be managed by the Volunteer Firefighting Association “Zaječar”, a registered organization with an official bank account. The organization will ensure transparent financial management and full support to youth-led implementation.

The organization has prior experience in community-based initiatives, while the Youth Club brings innovation, digital skills, and direct engagement with the target group.

Motivation Letter – Youth Club of the Volunteer Firefighting Association Zaječar

The Youth Club of the Volunteer Firefighting Association Zaječar is a community-based group dedicated to engaging young people in activities that promote safety, responsibility, and solidarity. As part of a volunteer firefighting association, the club focuses on fire prevention, risk awareness, and education, especially in rural areas where access to information and resources is limited.

Our work is centered on empowering youth to become active contributors to their communities. Through educational initiatives, campaigns, and creative content, we aim to build a culture of prevention and preparedness, particularly among vulnerable groups.

We chose this action because elderly residents in our villages are often at higher risk during fire-related emergencies. Many live alone, with limited access to timely information or support. In addition to fire safety education, this project includes practical training for older people on how to use basic digital technologies, such as mobile phones and communication tools, which can help them access information, call for help, and stay connected.

By combining safety education with digital inclusion, we aim to reduce risks and improve the overall quality of life for older community members.

What motivates us is the belief that prevention starts with knowledge and community engagement. As young volunteers, we see our role not only in responding to emergencies, but in helping prevent them—protecting lives before intervention becomes necessary.
